This tool converts GPS coordinates between three standard formats: decimal degrees (DD), degrees-minutes-seconds (DMS), and Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM). DD-to-DMS conversion applies the relationship DD = D + M/60 + S/3600, with sign determined by hemisphere (negative for South latitude and West longitude). UTM conversion uses the Transverse Mercator projection computed against the WGS84 ellipsoid parameters (semi-major axis a = 6,378,137 m, flattening f = 1/298.257223563), which is the global standard reference ellipsoid for GPS. All three formats represent the same point on the Earth's surface; no positional accuracy is added or removed during conversion.
